Year 2006
This is the first Roewe logo. The logo consists of an upside down trapezoid shape with soft and curved edges. The first layer of the shape has metallic silver color with black and grey gradients. Inside of the shape has 4 parts; the top row is black and red and the second row is red and black. These hues are overlapped by different elements; two lions facing each other, standing on their hind legs, and holding a sword. These lions are standing on letter ‘R’ which is capitalized and is designed in a vintage, royal, and fancy font type. All these elements are designed in royal golden color. Below the trapezoid is the name of the company designed in black with all uppercase letters using Copperplate Gothic Pro 31 font type. The complete logo is given a high-quality 2D look.
Year 2018
This is the latest Roewe logo. The logo has the same trapezoid shape and the elements inside it with only one difference; the shape, lion, sword, and the letter are in light blue color. Below the trapezoid is the name of the company designed in the same hue with all uppercase letters using customized Briston OTF 400 font type. The name of the company is again designed in the same color in Chinese alphabets. This is the minimalized version of the 2006 Roewe logo – Roewe 2006 logo can be seen on the vehicle’s grilles and bonnets.

Roewe is an automotive manufacturing company in China that was founded in 2006 by SAIC Motor Corporation and is currently headquartered in Shanghai. The company takes technology assistance from MG Rover and this is in some countries, Roewe cars are sold under the MG marque. The company claims that their name is derived from a German word ‘Lowe’ which means ‘Lion’ but analysts say that it is composed of Chinese characters ‘Rong’ and ‘Wei’ which means ‘Glorious Power’. These Chinese characters transliterate to ‘Rover’. The theory is that in 2006 SAIC wanted to acquire the Rover brand name from BMW which was sold to Ford. Roewe vehicles were introduced in the UK in 2010 by a UK-based engineering firm Ricardo. Although, the company claims that they acquired Ricardo in 2007 and renamed it to SAIC UK Technical Center and all the 200 employees were ex-Rover engineers. The most famous model of the company Roewe Vision R-electric was a concept car that was displayed at the 2015 Guangzhou Auto Show.
