About Apollo

Apollo Automobile, previously known as Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur, is a German-based sports car manufacturer situated in Denkendorf. Its founder, Roland Gumpert, was a former director of Audi Sport, under whom Audi had won 25 World Rally Championship rallies and four World Rally Championship titles.   In 2004, Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur was established, with the aim of producing a new generation of street-legal sports cars that could be raced on the track. In collaboration with Roland Meyer, founder of Motoren Technik Mayer, a prototype was built. Audi greenlighted the project on the condition that the car would be a series-product rather than a prototype.
