About Arkansas Travelers
Based in North Little Rock, Arkansas, the Arkansas Travelers, also known as The Travs, are a Minor League Baseball team affiliated with the Seattle Mariners. They compete in the Texas League. The Travelers came into existence as a successor to the Double-A Little Rock Travelers of the Southern Association, which disbanded after the 1961 season.
They made a comeback in 1963 as the Arkansas Travelers, joining the International League. The team’s name, derived from the popular folk song “The Arkansas Traveler,” has remained unchanged throughout their history. The Travelers hold the distinction of having the third-longest running nickname in minor league baseball, trailing only the Buffalo Bisons and Indianapolis Indians.
