About Auburn
The Auburn brand was an American automobile manufacturer that produced vehicles from 1900 to 1937. Its most notable models were the Auburn Speedsters, which were known for their speed, style, and high price tag. However, following the Wall Street Crash of 1929 and the resulting economic depression, Auburn, along with its sister companies Duesenberg and Cord, saw a decline in sales and production ceased in 1937.
After filing for bankruptcy and reorganizing in 1940, the former Auburn Automobile Company merged with Central Manufacturing Company to become Auburn Central Manufacturing Corporation (ACM). During World War II, ACM received a significant amount of production work, prompting them to rebrand as American Central Manufacturing in 1943.
