In September 2018, Google integrated Google Cast support into Google Podcasts. At Google I/O 2019, an announcement was made about the upcoming development of a web version of Google Podcasts for iOS, Android, and Windows platforms. The web version for iOS was launched in March 2020. In November 2019, the app underwent a redesign using the Google Material Theme. Additionally, on May 12, 2020, Google announced that users would be able to transfer their podcast subscriptions and history from Google Play Music to Google Podcasts.
