About Bluefield Blue Jays
The Bluefield Blue Jays, a former minor league baseball team, competed in the Rookie-level Appalachian League, representing the twin cities of Bluefield, West Virginia, and Bluefield, Virginia. They played their home games at the historic Bowen Field at Peters Park, which was established in 1939 and is located within Bluefield’s city park.
Although the park straddles the West Virginia-Virginia state line, Bowen Field itself is situated entirely within Virginia. Following the minor league reorganization in 2020, the Bluefield Blue Jays concluded their affiliation with the Toronto Blue Jays. Subsequently, they underwent a name change and became known as the Bluefield Ridge Runners.
