About Boise Hawks
The Boise Hawks, an independent baseball team, participate in the Pioneer League, which is recognized as an MLB Partner League but does not have a direct affiliation with Major League Baseball (MLB). Their home games are held at Memorial Stadium in Garden City, Idaho, a small city that is mostly surrounded by Boise.
From their inception in 1987 until 2020, the Hawks were part of the Class A Short Season Northwest League. However, due to the restructuring of Minor League Baseball in 2021, the team transitioned to the Pioneer League. This conversion involved the Pioneer League being reclassified as an independent baseball league and granted MLB Partner League status, no longer maintaining its previous affiliation with MLB’s rookie league.
