About Carolina Mudcats
The Carolina Mudcats, a Minor League Baseball team affiliated with the Milwaukee Brewers, belong to the Carolina League as a Single-A team. Situated in Zebulon, North Carolina, which is a suburb of Raleigh, they host their home games at Five County Stadium. The team's name, "Mudcats," is derived from Southern slang for catfish.
In 1991, the team commenced its operations following the relocation of the Columbus Mudcats from Columbus, Georgia. Initially, they were part of the Double-A Southern League until 2011. Subsequently, the Mudcats were succeeded by a Class A-Advanced team representing the Carolina League in 2012.
