About DHX Media
DHX Media is a former name of WildBrain Ltd. It is a Canadian entertainment company that works on brand licensing, production, animation studio, and media. The company is famous for having the largest library of kid’s content and kid’s TV programs. Its distribution is done by another Canadian TV company named as The WildBrain Spark.
It was founded in 2006 by Steven DeNure and Michael Donovan. Its headquarters is in Halifax, Canada. It has offices in 10 different locations and the current CEO and Vice Chairman is Eric Ellenbogen. The company has more than 1000 employees and the company made a huge profit of $439 million in 2019.

DHX Media was a combination of two entertainment companies; Decode Entertainment and Halifax Company. The full form of DHX is Decode-Halifax Film Company. The company acquired Bulldog Interactive Fitness in 2008 and by the end of 2010, all the subsidiaries were labeled as DHX Media. DHX Media changed its logos 4 times in the following years.

In 2010, DHX Media acquired WildBrain Entertainment. In 2012, the company decided to acquire Cookie Jar Group for Canadian $111 million. Doing this would make them the world’s largest independent owner of kid’s TV programs and it was done in October 2012. In 2013, the company launched three subscription channels on YouTube; DHX Retro, DHX Kids, and DHX Junior. DHX Media changed its logos in the following ways.
2006
This year, the logo has the name of the company. DHX is written in a small cases. It is white in color and has a thick light blue colored outline. Media is written in black on top of the letters H and X. Below dhx, there is the text ‘COME PLAY WITH US’. It is also written in the same way as DHX is written but all of these letters are capitalized. Below it, there is another text ‘DHX MEDIA is a registered trademark of DHX Media Ltd.’. All of this text is black in color.

In this year, the logo now has DHX media written in the same way and the rest of the texts are gone.

In this year, DHX is in orange color and media is written right next to it in light grey color.

2019
This year, the company’s name was changed to WildBrain. Now the logo has three strips in light blue color and these strips have a single eye in each of them. On its right, WildBrain is written in grey color. The initials are capitalized and have no space between the two words.

In 2013, the company acquired Ragdoll Worldwide which was a joint venture BBC Worldwide and Ragdoll Productions. In 2018, the company announced that they would also acquire Astral Media for Canadian $170 million which consisted of Disney XD, Disney Junior French, Disney Junior English, and the Family Channel. We liked the first two logos of DHX Media. We have no idea why the logo was turned in boring orange and grey color but we are glad that it changed. The last logo used the same color combination of the first logo. The strips with eyes is a little disturbing.
