About Google Nest
The Google Nest lineup consists of a range of smart home devices, such as smart speakers, smart displays, streaming devices, thermostats, smoke detectors, routers, and security systems. These security systems include smart doorbells, cameras, and smart locks.
Originally established by Nest Labs in 2010, a company co-founded by former Apple engineers Tony Fadell and Matt Rogers, the Nest brand name gained recognition. Their first flagship product, the Nest Learning Thermostat, was introduced in 2011.
This programmable and self-learning thermostat incorporates sensors and Wi-Fi connectivity, which are common features across various Nest products. In October 2013, the Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were launched. Following the acquisition of Dropcam in 2014, Nest introduced its line of security cameras under the Nest Cam branding, starting in June 2015.
