The Greensboro Grasshoppers, a Minor League Baseball team affiliated with the Pittsburgh Pirates, are located in Greensboro, North Carolina. They are part of the South Atlantic League and compete at the High-A level. Their home games are held at First National Bank Field, which was established in 2005 and has a seating capacity of 7,499 spectators. In preparation for the inaugural season at the new ballpark, the team underwent a logo change, adopting a Grasshopper as their emblem. The fans played a role in selecting the team's mascot, a colossal grasshopper named "Guilford," inspired by the name of Greensboro's county. Prior to this development, the Hornets and Bats, two other teams, hosted all their home games at World War Memorial Stadium, situated just northeast of downtown Greensboro.
