Charles founded HBO via his company which was Manhattan Cable TV Services which was later named to Sterling Information Services in 1971. Manhattan cable was famous in the United States because it was one of the first cable setup that was underground. HBO Family changed its logo in the following ways.

2005

            This year, HBO was written on top of an inverted inline or you can say a swish and below it, Family was written in rainbow colors. The F of the family is capitalized and the rest of the letters are in small case.

            This year, HBO remained the same and the swish was gone. The letters of family are in upper case letters with the same colors.

            This year, the logo had a lot of changes. HBO was still the same but the letters of family are now in small case and there is a pink dot on I and the rest of the letters are in black color.

            This year, the logo again made some huge changes. HBO is again the same, the letters of family are in small case, the letters of family are still small but the color of it is red. The A letter had a yellow filling in it and the Y is facing the opposite direction.
