It joined the NFL in 1970 and in the same year, the team’s net worth was $3.7 billion. Hunt died in 2006 and his children and wife Norma became the legal owners of the team. Norma passed away in 2023 and his son Clark Hunt is now the chairman and CEO since 2006.

Kansas City Chiefs Logo Details

The team had very distinctive logos over the years. The second and the third logo have a man and the funny thing that we never saw in any logo is that the figure has hair on its thighs. This intervention in football team logos has never seen before.

History of Kansas City Chiefs: Evolution of the Logo

Kansas City Chiefs changed its logo in the following ways.

1960

This is the first logo of Kansas City Chiefs and it has a pink map of Texas which is overlapped by a cowboy facing and running left holding a gun in its left hand and a yellow football in its right hand. The cowboy’s shirt has a text that says “Texans”.

1963

The figure is almost naked, its bottom privates are covered with a piece of red cloth and KC is designed on it in yellow color. The figure is holding a vintage axe in its left hand and a red football in its right hand.

1970

1972

[caption id="attachment_424177" align="aligncenter" width="300"]Kansas City Chiefs 1972 Logo Vector 01 Kansas City Chiefs 1972 Logo Vector 01[/caption] The final logo of the Kansas City Chiefs took a huge and unusual turn. This logo has an unevenly designed point of an arrow in black with white color fill and it has K and C in dull matte pink color with a black outline. Some say that the point of the arrow represents the Native Americans and some say it is a map of Dallas.

Conclusion

The third logo of Kansas City Chiefs was almost untouched and this is why many have a say that the team only changed its logo 3 times over the years. The team designed a Native American in logo to pay homage to the tribe. The last logo has an arrowhead which represents Native American culture and tradition.
