Lean FC is also known as Club Leon FC or Club Leon Futbol Club or just Leon. It is a Mexican football club based in Leon, Guanajuato and it competes and plays in Liga MX. Leon has won 8 matches of Primera Division de Mexico or which is also called Liga MX. It was founded on 20^th August 1944 and it is owned by Grupo Pachuca.

The chairman of this club is Jesus Martinez Murguia and the manager of the club is Nicolas Larcamon. The club also qualified for the Champion’s Cup in 1988 but was defeated in the semi-final match.

Meaning and History of Leon FC Logo

The club has 4 nicknames; Los Panzas Verdes which is known as The Green Bellies, La Fiera means The Wild Beast, Los Esmeralds means The Emeralds and Los Verdiblancos means The Green and Whites. Leon FC got the attention of Spanish citizens and got their very own broadcast in the Spanish language that was aired on Telemundo Deportes and on Fox Sports Latinoamerica. Leon FC changed its logos 6 times in the following years.

Evolution of Leon FC Logo

In 2016, the Leon FC games were also broadcast on TUDN and this club is ranked 29^th on the IFFHS North and Central America’s best clubs of the 20^th century. The club was created by an application by Union de Curtidores and was later merged with Seleccion de Guanajuato. Leon FC changed its logo in the following ways.

1944

            In this year, the logo has a 5-layered nested circle. The first circle is green and has text ‘CLUB * DEPORTIVO * LEON * A.C.’, all these letters are in white color and on the last part, there is a white star. The second layer is white, the third layer is green, the fourth layer is green and the last layer is again white. The last layer has a lion in yellow color standing on its back legs and facing right. On top of the first layer of the circle, there is a green and yellow crown and on top of the crown, there is a yellow cross.

1955

            This year, the logo now has a customized square. The top part of the square is yellow and Leon is written in green color with a white border and all the letters are capitalized. The bottom part of the square has two sections. The left part is green and has a lion’s face in yellow color and ‘A.’ is written in white color with a yellow border. The right part is white and has a red-brownish football in it and ‘C.’ is written in green color with a yellow border.

1964

            This year, the logo is almost the same except the colors are now very dull. The part where Leon is written is now white and Leon is written in dull green color. The lion’s features are erased but it is still recognizable. The yellow border on A. and C. are gone and the football is now in green and white color. Below the square, there are 5 yellow stars.

1981

            This year, the logo is now of badge shape. It has a yellow outline and LEON is again written on a dull yellow background in green color. The lions’ features are somewhat visible and clear now. A. and C. are replaced with F and C. F is written below the lion in white color and C is written in green color below the football which is now black and white.

2000

            This year, the colors of the logo are brighter and behind the logo there is a shadow of strips. On the top of the badge shape, there is a yellow star.

2013

            This year, the shadow is gone and now there are two stars on the top. The logo now gives a 2d look and the rest is the same.

The players were green and white uniforms when they are playing in their own country and if the club is playing outside the country, they wear white and black uniform. For some reason, the Leon FC logo on Wikipedia has three stars on the top but the change is not confirmed. The Leon FC logo is made up of the following things.
