About Manchester City

Originally founded in 1880 as St. Mark’s (West Gorton), the club underwent name changes and became Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887, finally adopting the name Manchester City in 1894.
Their home stadium is the Etihad Stadium, situated in east Manchester, where they relocated to in 2003 after playing at Maine Road since 1923. In 1894, Manchester City started sporting their iconic sky blue home shirts, coinciding with the adoption of their current name. Throughout its history, the club has achieved remarkable success, securing nine league titles, six FA Cups, eight League Cups, six FA Community Shields, and one European Cup Winners’ Cup.
