About Marvel Comics
Since December 31, 2009, Marvel Comics has been an American comic book publisher under the ownership of The Walt Disney Company. Originally established as Timely Comics in 1939 by Martin Goodman, it eventually became known as Atlas Comics by 1951.
The Marvel era officially began in June 1961 with the introduction of iconic titles like The Fantastic Four, which were created by notable figures such as Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and numerous others. Throughout the years and decades, the Marvel brand gradually became the company’s predominant identity.
