Nintendo Switch is a video game console which is developed by Nintendo PTD. It was released in March 2017. It is manufactured by Foxconn and Hosiden. As of December 31, 2023, the company sold 139.36 million units around the world. The device uses Nintendo Switch system software and uses a Nvidia Tegra X1/Tegra X1+ chipset. It is a heavy competitor of PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. The switch can be used as a tablet, a home console, and as a portable device for a hybrid console. The console has joy-con controllers, directional analog sticks, and buttons. These can be used for tactile feedback, motion sensing, and user input. Buttons and controllers are on both sides of the console.

History of Nintendo Switch: Evolution of the Logo

Nintendo Switch changed its logo in the following ways. 2016 This is the first logo of Nintendo Switch. The logo has a grey-colored horizontal oval with white filling. Nintendo is written in grey color. Outside the oval on the right, NX is written in grey color and is capitalized. The font used to design Nintendo is Nintendo and NX is written in Simple Calibri Body Bold font. 2017 This logo has a bright red square and it has two figures in it. The figures are similar to vertical rectangles. The left figure has a white outline and red color fill and a white circle on the top. The right figure is the same and has a white color fill and a red circle. Below these figures, Nintendo is written on top of Switch. All of these letters are capitalized and in white color. The word Switch is bigger than the word Nintendo. The font used in the logo is Simple Calibri Body Bold. 2019 This logo has a transparent background and the name of the product is written along with the word Lite. All the letters are in grey color. The first letter of each word is capitalized and the rest of the letters are in small case. The word Lite is bigger than the rest of the two words. 2021 In this logo, you will see the name of the product in black color, and below it, the OLED Model is written in black color. The logo has a transparent background. The font is the same.

Conclusion

The first logo has a cool font – the font name is similar to the company’s name. The company should have used the same font style but it used a very simple one. When we think about a gaming console, there is much that could be added to a logo but the company has decided to keep it simple for some reason.
