About Reading Fightin Phils
The Reading Fightin Phils, known as the Reading Fightins, are a minor league baseball team situated in Reading, Pennsylvania. They compete in the Northeast Division of the Eastern League and call FirstEnergy Stadium their home.
Originally established in 1967 as the Reading Phillies, often called the R-Phils or Reading Phils, they have maintained a longstanding partnership with the Philadelphia Phillies as their Double-A affiliate. This affiliation is currently one of the longest-running in Minor League Baseball. In 2008, the Philadelphia Phillies purchased the team outright. Despite the name change, many fans still affectionately refer to them as the Reading Phillies or R-Phils.
