Sheetz is also known as Sheetz Inc. It is an American chain of coffee shops and convenience stores. It is owned by the Sheetz Family. You can find beverages, food, and more items in the store. It is always open 24/7. It was founded in 1952 and its headquarters is in Pennsylvania, United States.

As of 2022, you can find Sheetz in 659 different locations and the company made a huge profit of 7.2 billion dollars in 2021. It employs 19,700 people and the current President and CEO is Travis R. Sheetz.

Meaning and History of Sheetz Logo

These stores are famous because they sell gasoline and some stores are also totally truck stops that also offer laundromats and showers. Sheetz was founded by G. Robert Bob Sheetz who started this business when he purchased a dairy store of his father and hired his brother to work part-time. Sheetz changed their logo 5 times in the following years.

Evolution of Sheetz Logo

The store soon became a huge hit and by 1963, Robert opened a second store and named it Sheetz Kwik Shopper and a third store opened in 1968. Steve Sheetz became the manager of the second store. Both the brothers opened 7 more stores of Sheetz by 1972 and by 1973, Sheetz also started to sell gasoline. Sheetz’s logo changed in the following ways.

1952

            This year, the logo was very simple. Sheetz was written in black color and the letters were slightly italicized. The S was capitalized and the rest of the letters are in a small case.

1963

            This year, the logo has a customized light orange colored banner and in it, Sheetz is written in dark pink color; all the letters are capitalized. Below it, Kwik Shopper is written in black color, letters are capitalized and italicized. Outside below the banner, there is a text that says ‘OPEN 8 AM till MIDNITE’. This text is also written in dark pink color.

1970

This year, the stores started selling all sorts of foods, which is why the logo got modified. Now there is a blackboard that is usually found outside the restaurants with menus and specials written on it. The logo has a 2d look and the blackboard has a black outline followed by a white inline the board is black Sheetz is written in white color and all the letters are capitalized. Below it, Kwik Shopper is written in white with all capitalized letters, and the letters are italicized and below it, Food Store is written in white and all the letters are capitalized.

1981

            This year, the logo has a square with a maroon outline and the inside of the square is divided into three parts. The extreme left side has a yellow and orange color which is extended to divide two more parts of the square. The upper part of the square has Sheets is written in it in white color and the background is pink. Below the yellow division, ‘open 24 hours’ is written in white.

2000

            This year, the logo has a customized rectangle that is overlapped by another customized rectangle. Both the shapes have a black outline followed by three-layered inline of maroon, green, and maroon colors. On the first rectangle’s top part, ‘FRESH FOOD’ is written in white color, and at the rectangle’s bottom part ‘MADE TO ORDER’ is written in white. In the overlapped rectangle, SHEETZ is written in white color with a black outline and grey gradient. There are sun rays coming out of the sides of the rectangles.

Building of Sheetz Logo

By 1983, the brothers managed to open 100 stores all over the United States. Sheetz also sold a Chinese brand of cola named as It! Cola but it was soon discontinued and was replaced with Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Sheetz was one of the first stores to accept MasterCard and PayPass technology even before 7-Eleven, Arby’s, CVS, and McDonald’s. The Sheetz logo is made up of the following things.

Font

            In the first four years, Calibri Body font was used. In the last year, SHEETZ was written in a completely customized font which is similar to Chinese text. The words ‘FRESH, FOOD, MADE TO ORDER’ are written in customized Times New Roman font.

Color

            In the first year, only black color was used. In the second year, dark pink, black and orange colors were used. The third year, black and white colors were used. In the fourth year, maroon, yellow, orange, and white colors were used. In the last year, black, green, maroon, white, and dark pink colors are used.
