About University of Manchester
The University of Manchester is a public research university. It was first founded in 1824 and was named Manchester Mechanics’ Institute, later in 1851, it was renamed Owens College. It was again renamed to Victoria University in 1880, the university again got a new name in 1904 Victoria University of Manchester.
In 1956, the university was called UMIST and for the last time, the university got its name in 2004. Its chancellor is Nazir Afzal and the President is Nancy Rothwell. As of 2020, they had 12920 employees with 26630 students and 13855 postgrad students.

This year, the logo had a picture of a red and white building and below it, the university is written in capitalized letters in black color and below it, ‘of Manchester’ is written. ‘Of’ is written in a very fancy italicized font and Manchester is capitalized.

This year, the logo was completely changed and became very much fancy. In the logo, there is a shield that has a sun coming out of the purple edge of a wall and has a blue sky. The purple wall has two bees in a row and another bee at the bottom of the shield. Outside at the top of the shield there is a half armor facing left and has a golden crown. On the golden crown, there is a lion facing to the left but looking straight and is holding a torch. The lion’s tongue is sticking out and it has red claws. There is a flower on the belly of the lion and on the lions’ head, there is a crown made up of concrete. The logo has a floral border of purple and yellow goldish color.

Note: On the website of the University of Manchester, the logo is different. The logo on the website has a purple rectangle with Manchester written in capitalized letters and below the letters; EST, 1824 is written. Below the purple rectangle, there is a text that says, ‘The University of Manchester’, this text is in light black color. The letters; EST and 1824 are in yellow color and the rest of the letters are in white color.
