About Vaseline

The idea of petroleum jelly is traced back in 1859 when Robert Chesebrough, a chemist who clarified kerosene from the fat oil of sperm whale. This oil was used in the ships as fuel to travel in different parts of the world.

The first launch of Vaseline was done on 1872 under the U.S. patent. The word Vaseline is derived from a German word which means water and oil. In this year, the logo is a grey circle with golden layer and two grey circular lines. Vaseline is written in a golden rectangle within the circle. There are two grey filling in the circle up and below where Vaseline is written. In the golden layer, ‘CHESEBROUGH MFG CO CP NEW YORK’, is written on top in black color. In the bottom, ‘PACKED IN LONDON ENGLAND’ is written on the bottom in black color.
1969
In this year, Vaseline is written in blue color on a white background.
2004
In this year, Vaseline is written in white color in a dark blue background.
2006
In this year, the logo is a badge in blue color with grey border and Vaseline is written in white color.
2018
