About Workday Company
Workday is an American financial management and human capital management software, vendor. It was founded in 2005 by Aneel Bhusri and David Duffield. Prior to founding the company, Duffield had co-founded PeopleSoft, and Bhusri had been an executive at Oracle. Workday’s initial public offering took place on October 12, 2012. The company is headquartered in Pleasanton, California.
According to its website, Workday’s first product was an accounting application for small and medium-sized businesses. The company later branched out into human capital management with products for finance, compliance, recruiting, time and attendance, talent management, learning management, and analytics. Workday uses the freemium business model for its products.
Since its initial public offering (IPO) in October 2012, Workday’s stock price increased by 165%. By early 2014, the company had a market capitalization of $12 billion. The Wall Street Journal reported that investors were valuing other software companies using similar models at much lower multiples of revenue and earnings than what was being given to Workday, because of investor “skepticism about cloud-software providers’ ability to increase sales and turn a profit”.
About Workday Logo
The Workday logo is a blue rectangular logo with the company name and a rainbow curve on top of it. The logo is finished with a rather intricate typeface. The inscription embraces the features of many typefaces, as each letter is unique. In design, they mimic the Cambridge Round Regular, Torcao Demi, and Linear FS Bold’s distinctive symbols.
A curve on the company name represents the company’s cloud-based software. The blue color in the logo represents the company’s trustworthiness and transparency. The Workday logo has been developed in one color (blue) only. The inscription is finished with the Aachen Bold typeface. It is notable by its balance and proportion of all elements, including letters and symbols which are clearly visible within the curves.
