About Google AdMob

AdMob, a mobile advertising company, operates as a subsidiary of Google and was initially established by Omar Hamoui. The term “AdMob” is a combination of “advertising on mobile.” Hamoui founded the company while attending the Wharton School of Business, and it was officially incorporated on April 10, 2006. The company’s headquarters are located in Mountain View, California. In November 2009, Google acquired AdMob for a sum of $750 million. The acquisition was finalized on May 27, 2010.

During the same year, Apple Inc. also showed interest in acquiring AdMob but was outbid by Google. Before becoming part of Google, AdMob itself acquired AdWhirl (formerly known as Adrollo), a platform for creating advertisements in iPhone applications. AdMob provides advertising solutions for various mobile platforms, including Android, iOS, webOS, Flash Lite, Windows Phone, and all standard mobile web browsers.
