About Frederick Keys
The Frederick Keys, a team in the MLB Draft League, are a collegiate summer baseball team situated in Frederick, Maryland. The franchise derives its name from Francis Scott Key, the author of the “Star-Spangled Banner,” who was a native of Frederick County.
In the 2011 baseball season, a new team mascot named “Frank Key,” a shortened version of Francis Scott Key, was introduced alongside the current mascot, Keyote the coyote.
