Originally established in 1966 in Lodi, California, as part of the California League, the team initially played their home games at Tony Zupo Field. Over the years, they underwent various name changes and transitions in ownership before settling in Rancho Cucamonga in 1993.
In 2021, as part of the minor league reorganization, the California League disbanded and was replaced by the Low-A-West. However, the following year, in 2022, it was renamed back to the California League.
