About Sydney Thunder
The Sydney Thunder is a professional cricket team representing Australia in the domestic Twenty20 cricket tournament, the Big Bash League. They are one of the franchises that emerged from the New South Wales Blues, which previously competed in the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash. The team plays their home matches at the Sydney Showground Stadium.
Just like the Sydney Sixers, the Sydney Thunder is a continuation of the New South Wales Blues from the now-defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash. The team’s color was chosen as lime green by the NSW Cricket board after considering various other options. They rejected colors that were deemed too similar to those used by other sports teams in Sydney.
