BAIC Motor is an automobile manufacturing company based in China. The company was founded in 2010 by BAIC Group and is headquartered in Beijing. Major part of BAIC Motor is now owned and controlled by the Beijing Municipal Government. BAIC Motor was first a sub-holding company of BAIC Group but soon, it became listed in 2014. In 2015, the company announced its plan to partner with Daimler AG – according to the contract, BACI Motor took 35% of stake in the Mercedes-Benz Leasing. Mercedes-Benz Leasing is a leasing company based in China. BAIC Motor became the major vehicle brand of Beijing but it faced a lot of financial problems during its years in operations; it revived back by BAIC Group after closing the Senova brand. The Senova vehicles were rebranded to Beijing/BAIC Motor.
