1912

Bertone 1912

This is the first Bertone logo. The logo has a customized shape of a shield/crest in silver. The top part has 5 waves. Inside at the top part of the shape has the name of the company embedded in the shield/crest designed in all uppercase letters using customized Calibri Body Bold font type. The name of the company has a curve design and below it are 4 rows of embedded dots. Beneath this is another customized crest/shield shape designed in dots filling the rest of the space. This shape has a customized letter ‘B’ designed in black in lowercase using a customized Blackadder ITC font type.

1998

Bertone 1998

This is the second Bertone logo. The logo has the letter ‘B’ design from the 1912 Bertone logo. It is designed in metallic grey-silver color. Below it is the name of the company designed in grey-silver, in all uppercase letters, and using Wide Press Rough OTF 400 font type.

2010

Bertone 2010

This is the third Bertone logo. The logo has the same design details as used in the 1998 Bertone logo. This time, the logo has 2D effective using a black outline with metallic grey and silver touches. The name of the company is designed using a customized Times New Roman font type and the rest is the same. Below this is an underline in three hues; green, white, and red representing the Italian flag. Below this are letters and numbers ‘DAL 1912’, these are designed in light grey with all uppercase letters using customized Eurostile SH Extended font type. DAL 1912 means ‘Since 1912’.

Bertone: Company Overview

Bertone was also known as Gruppo Bertone. It was a car manufacturing, styling, and coachbuilding manufacturing and designing company. It was founded in 1912 by Giovanni Bertone and it also manufactured limited edition exclusive vehicles. The company was first named as Carrozzeria Bertone and after the WWII, the company was taken over by Nuccio Bertone and divided the company into two parts. Carrozzeria became the unit for manufacture and Stile Bertone became the unit for styling of cars. The company faced bankruptcy in 2014 and at this time the company was owned by Lilli Bertone (Nuccio’s widow) after the company’s closing, the cars were shifted in the Volandia and Automotoclub Storico Italiano museums. After the closing, some employees and an architect of the company took the name Bertone and opened an external design office in Milan ‘Bertone Design’. In 2016, this company was sold to AKKA Technologies and the brand was again sold to Mauro and Jean-Franck Ricci. After this acquisition, its limited edition GB110 was launched in December 2022. Before the designing and manufacturing of cars, Giovanni founded a business of carriages at the age of 28 and also started manufacturing horse-drawn vehicles. After the WWI, the founder started with the automotive manufacturing and designing.
