The founder was a race car driver who became an automobile tuner after retirement and after a couple of years founded the company. Bitter was known for rebodying cars of other manufacturing companies. It started its production between 1973 and 1989 and sold multiple vehicles in United States and Europe. The company launched its own vehicle in 2007 named as Bitter Vero. The company also launched its coupe edition vehicle which was a 3-door hatchback; it was named Bitter CD.
