The third layer’s top is white and the bottom is pink. The fourth layer has a black color fill and BMW is designed in the top in stretched Calibri Body Bold font. The last layer has 4 parts, two are light blue and the remaining two are white.
1978
This logo has three lines leaning right. From left to right, the lines are in light blue, dark blue, and red. There is a white space after the lines and a Italicized letter M in grey color.
1993
The logo is the same but is given a 3D metallic look. The light blue colored line has a dark blue outline and the white space is filled with a dark grey color strip. The letter M is grey and has white gradient in it.
2020
This is the minimalized version of the logo. The grey space between the lines and the letters is removed. The lines and the letters are joined. The letter M is now in light grey.
BMW M: Company Overview
BMW created BMW M to launch their new division for racing cars. This started in the early 1960s and the 1970s. These cars were different from the BMW traditional cars; these ones had modified exteriors, aerodynamics, interior trims, suspensions, transmissions, and engines. These vehicles are tested at BMW’s specialized facility at the Nurburgring racing area in Germany. BMW M also launched motorcycles. The company started this division with 35 employees and now they have more than 400 employees. This division enhanced the company’s market around the world. The first vehicle of this division was BMW 3.0 CSL and the second was BMW 530 MLE.
