History of Freightliner Logos
Freightliner changed its logo 6 times in the following ways and years.
1942

This is the first logo of Freightliner. The logo is a 3 nested customized shape of an oval. The first layer is thick black colored, the second layer is white, and the third layer has a black color with the name of the company designed in white color with all capitalized letters using a customized Calibri Body Bold font type. The top part of the oval is slightly pointed, we think that it represents the grille on the hood of the truck.
1951

This is the second logo Freightliner. This is the time when the company was bought by White Corporations in 1951. The pointy top of the oval is now very much swollen up. The first layer is now thin black, followed by a white layer, and the third layer is in deep dark red color. The name of the company is designed in the same way but this time it is in white color. There is another word on top of it “White” designed in a customized font style. The first letter of White is capitalized and rest are in small case. The letters of Freightliner are designed in descending to ascending order.
1960

This is the third logo Freightliner. The logo is a bright orange rectangle. Inside top of the rectangle, there is a text “There’s a Custom-Engineered” in white color using Calibri Body Bold font style. The first letters of each word is capitalized and the rest are in small case. Below it is the same design as used in the 1951 Freightliner logo but this time it is black and white color. The word Freightliner has the letters of same size and the word White has all capitalized letters. The letter I of the word White has a globe on top of it instead of a dot – representing global reach. Below the Freightliner logo, is another line of text “Lightweight Truck or Tractor for Every Haul”. The words are designed in white. The first letters are capitalized and the rest are in small case.
1974

The logo is again the same like 1951 Freightliner logo. The first layer is super thin in black color, the second layer is in grey color, and the third layer has black color fill with two words; White in grey color with all capitalized letters and Freightliner below it designed in grey color with all capitalized letters. All the letter are designed using a customized Vipnagorgialla Bold Italic font.
1995

The logo is the same like the logo of 1942. The only difference is that it is bigger in appearance.
1997

The logo is given a 3D look. The first layer is thin and in black color, the second layer is in grey metallic color with white and black gradients. The third layer has a black color fill and has the name of the company designed in silver metallic color with all capitalized letters using customized Calibri Body Bold font style. The shape of the oval has a very slight pointy top.
