This is the Hawtai logo. The logo has a metallic silver-grey oval with white color filling. Inside the shape is a customized shape of a letter ‘U’ that is attached with the top inner layer of the oval. This letter also represents the letter ‘H’ and the whole logo gives the appearance of the Honda logo. Below these elements is the name of the company designed in grey with all uppercase letters using customized Chubbet Distended Normal font type. The oval is a symbolization of unity and global presence and the logo has smooth and curved cuts and edges which is represents smooth movement and seamlessness.
Hawtai: Company Overview
Hawtai is an automotive company in China that was founded in 2000 by Zhang Xuigen and is currently headquartered in Beijing. The company has two more production facilities in Shandong and Inner Mongolia. From 2002 to 2012, Hawtai had business joint ventures with Hyundai Motors and now it just uses its technology in some of its models. The joint venture’s aim was to manufacture passenger cars. In 2010, the company sold more than 350,000 units and most of them were SUVs and sedans.
The company initially started off by just selling SUVs and the sedans were added in the company’s listing in 2010. The diesel engine technology is added by the VM Motori but Hawtai’s Santa Fe model (an SUV) was the most sold car in 2010 in China. Some of the Hawtai models also use SAIC Motor engines but the designs of the engines are done in Inner Mongolia.
