This is the Hongyan logo. The logo has a metallic silver-grey oval with black and white gradient with white color filling in the center. The center of the shape has a joined letters ‘hy’; the top and the bottom of the letters are joined with the inner border of the shape. There are two horizontal lines connecting with the letters. Outside below the shape is the name of the company in Chinese alphabets and below it is again the name of the company designed in English letters, in all uppercase letters, in grey, and using customized on Conthrax Heavy font type.

Hongyan: Company Overview

Hongyan is also known as SAIC Hongyan Automotive Co LTD. The company is also called Iveco Hongyan. The company is founded in 2003 and is currently headquartered in Chongqing. Hongyan is subsidiary of SAIC and is now owned by Shanghai New Power Automotive Technology. The company’s roots are traced back to 1965 when the Chinese government started building an assembly plant for manufacturing military vehicles; it was named as the Sichuan Automotive Manufacturing Plant. The production of the vehicles started in 1966 and used Berliet technology.

By 1980s, the company used technology from Steyr for their heavy-duty trucks and by 1990s, Hongyan trucks were exported in different parts of the world. Sichuan was a part of CNHTC till 2001 and made a second joint venture with SAIC in 2005. The company was renamed to SAIC Hongyan Automotive Co LTD and when Iveco bought a huge number of shares in this venture, it was again renamed to SAIC Iveco Hongyan Commercial Vehicle. The current Hongyan was named in 2021 after becoming a part of Shanghai New Power Automotive Technology.
