This is the IKCO logo. The logo has a silver-grey shield/crest with light blue color filling. The center of the shape has a head of a horse facing right. The horse is designed in light silver which almost seems white. This design also has blue lines near horse’s mane and one near the chest. Outside below the crest/shield is the name of the company designed in white with all uppercase letters using customized Calibri Body Extra Bold font type. The design and all the elements are designed on a blue background. The crest/shield represents stability, strength, and protection. The selection of the light blue color is associated with progress and technology. The horse is a cultural representation of the company and it is a symbol of freedom and speed. Since Iran is a Muslim country, and in Islam, the horse is considered a noble creature. On the car’s bonnets and grilles, only the crest/shield and its elements can be seen on the vehicles.

IKCO: Company Overview

Iran Khodro is an Iranian automotive company that was founded in 1962 by Mahmoud and Ahmad Khayami and is currently headquartered in Tehran. The company was previously known as Iran National and it was renamed to IKCO in 1979. Other than manufacturing its own vehicles, IKCO also produces Renault and Peugeot cars including buses, minibuses, and trucks. The company produced more than 600,000 units in 2009. IKCO vehicles are also exported in different parts of the world like North Africa, Central Asia, and Middle East. This is why 65% of the Iranian citizens use IKCO because it is certified by several international organizations like OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, RW-TUV, and ISO 9001 – making the vehicles environmentally certified and safe as well. In 2005, IKCO was considered one of the largest car manufacturing companies in Asia because it crossed the 1 million target.
