JAC Motors is an automobile manufacturing company in China which was founded by the Anhui provincial government of China in 1964 and is currently headquartered in Anhui. It was previously known as Hefei Jianghuai Automobile and was renamed to its current name in 1997. In terms of the company’s selling volume, it is considered to be the top 10 Chinese automakers – although it is a small car producing company. JAC first used to produce commercial vehicles only and with immense success, the company was enlisted in the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2001 and launched its SUVs and MUVs in 2000. By 2007, JAC Motors got permission from the government to produce passenger cars and before this, it collaborated with Hyundai Motor Company to enhance its product line.
