This is the first logo of Detroit Electric. The logo is the name of the company designed in black color. The logo is comprises of 3 words; “The”, “Detroit”, and “Electric”. The first word is designed on top of the word Detroit and below it is the word Electric. The first and the third letter are designed in customized Times New Roman Italicized font type. The word Detroit is designed in black using a combo of two font types Brush Script MT and Blackadder ITC. The first letter is capitalized and rest are in small case. The ending tail of the letter T is extended towards the letter D.

This is the second logo of Detroit Electric. The logo is a 4 nested circle. The first is a thick electric blue layer. Top of this year has the name of the company designed in white color using customized Calibri Body Bold font type with all capitalized letters. There are two lightning bolts designed at the bottom of this layer. The second and third layer is red and white. The fourth layer has a red color fill and the word “Detroit” designed in white with all capitalized letters using the same font type.

This is the third logo of Detroit Electric. The logo is similar to the 1920 Detroit Electric logo and it is given a 3D look. The logo is still a 4 nested circle. The first layer is light grey which almost seems invisible, the second layer is dark deep blue; the bottom of this layer almost seems black. The next layer is metallic grey and the last layer has blue color fill. The second and the fourth layer has the same words as designed in the 1920 Detroit Electric logo.

Detroit Electric: Company Overview

The Detroit Electric was a brand of electric car owned by Anderson Electric Car Company. It company was launched in 1907 and was closed 1939 and it had an assembly plant based in Detroit, Michigan, USA. The company was revived in 2008 by Albert Lam who was the CEO of Lotus Engineering Group of Lotus Cars. The company was first launched in 1884 by Anderson and was named as Anderson Carriage Company and it manufactured buggies and carriages. In 1907, the company started manufacturing electric vehicles that were powered by a rechargeable lead acid battery. By the year 1910, the company was manufacturing 1000-2000 vehicles per year. In 1920, the gasoline prices skyrocketed and this doubled the sales of the company and this is when it changed the name to Detroit Electric. With the advancement of internal combustion engines, the company’s sales dropped drastically and had to close its production in 1939. Between these years, total 13000 cars very manufactured and sold.
